Licorice is a plant that grows on its own in Greece with roots that have a very sweet taste. Known since antiquity for its valuable therapeutic uses and has been described by Theophrastus and Dioskourides! It contains triterpenic saponins such as glycyrrhizin that is 50-60 times sweeter than crystalline sugar, flavonoids, sterols, polysaccharides, coumarin and asparagine. With its anti-inflammatory properties it gives the skin a more radiant appearance. It helps increase energy, relieves stress and reduces symptoms of fatigue.
